Logo smallFun Fundraising Competition

Over the half term holiday we have a fun fundraising activity which was suggested by a parent. We are giving out one bottle to every Holly Park family and asking you to fill the bottles with your small change. The closing date for returning the bottles will be Monday 27th February. The bottles in each class will be counted and the class who raises the most money will receive a special class treat. Don’t forget to put a sticker on with your name and class. We thank you for your support. We’ve already had some bottles back!

Royal Mail’s Christmas Stamp Design Competition 2017

Even though it is only February, but the Royal Mail have already sent out information about their competition for next Christmas. Children have brought home a template to design a stamp for Christmas. There are instructions on the sheet. The sheet must have the child’s age and it must also be signed by a parent. The winning designs will be approved by Her Majesty The Queen. There are great prizes available. Entries must be returned to Holly Park by Friday 3rd March. A great activity to do over half term!

BBC Radio 2: 500 Words competition

BBC Radio 2 is currently running its annual creative writing competition. Last year a number of our pupils entered this competition. The judges will be looking for creativity, originality and enjoyment so this is a great opportunity to encourage these features. This competition is open to all of KS2, so we would like as many children to enter. You may choose to have a go over half term as the deadline is 7:00pm on Thursday 23rd February. Here is a link to the website, which has lots of ideas and inspiration. You will need to submit your child’s story by creating a submission profile. Please ask your child to bring a hard copy of their story as we would love to read the stories. Good luck!

Summer challenge 2016

Over the summer holidays the children were asked to take part in the summer challenge. They had a variety of tasks to complete such as: visit a museum, build a tower of 1p coins, eat a new food, pick up rubbish, grow a plant from seed, follow a recipe and bake something, learn to juggle etc.

Well done to everyone who took part, we had lots of challenges returned to school and many beautifully presented in posters and books.

  • Visit a museum and learn three new facts
  • Learn a poem off by heart
  • Take a photograph of yourself somewhere you have never been before
